As the founder of Terrablock Insights, Alan has over 15 years of experience in software development and technology, leading software teams and projects across multiple sectors including banking and cyber-security, as well as years of extensive experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain and decentralised finance technology.
As the founder of Terrablock Insights, Alan graduated from university in Dublin with a higher Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. His early professional work was as a software developer with one of the largest financial institutions in Ireland. Alan then joined the large multinational Oracle for several years working on the Solaris operating system. He then joined a cybersecurity start-up facilitating a role of extensive hands on software development, technical lead/architect and mentor for ten years.
Alan is an expert in blockchain and decentralised finance technology, having become actively involved in Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem in 2019 and gradually building a level of expertise that merged seamlessly with the professional background in software and technology. Alan also has a great level of interest in the traditional financial system, currencies, commodities and geopolitics.
